Annabel’s Batmitzvah and a trip to Oz

From this weekend I will be nipping off to Melbourne for eight days. We are going international! A branch of Rentabooth will be opening in Melbourne in about a weeks time. If you need a quote or want to ask any questions about the service that we offer you may find it cheaper next week to send us an email to info@rentabooth.co.uk rather than call. I will be picking up messages every day and answering emails. Because of the time difference I probably won’t be answering as promptly as I would usually do but I will be answering as soon as I can.

Sunday night saw us up at London Bridge for Annabel’s Batmitzvah. Lollies were handed out towards the end of the night and made for some fun shots. Here is Annabel on the left with her friend at the beginning of the evening.

And Mum and Dad in “Photobooth mode”.

Then the lollies came out…

A Photobooth wouldn’t be the same unless some of the vendors popped in and had some fun. A couple of the dancers.

What a creative bunch you can be!

We covered the Cream Awards at the National Motor Museum in Birmingham last Thursday and the Manchester based company, True Careers, added an interesting twist to the proceedings. They decided on a James Bond theme for the Photobooth!

The Cream Awards are for the advertising and design agencies for innovation etc throughout the year and the introduction of a drop of alcohol to the proceedings made it even more fun.

Here is the winner of the True Careers 007 competition. How did he do it?

A few more with Bond as a theme.

I loved this. I have no idea what they were up to but it was fun.

Saturday night we worked very local to where we are based at Uxbridge Cricket Club and we covered Larry’s 50th Birthday Party. I’ve photographed the family many, many times over the years. Kirsty who is always the person who books me is on the left in the Bunny’s ears.

More to come later…

Back to blogging.

Sunday night we were in Finchley at the Arts Depot for Eli’s Batmitzvah. The meal took place in the theatre itself and if you like “arty” venues it is definitely somewhere to think about.

Here is Eli on the left.

And Alex on the left, from her own Batmitzvah earlier in the year.

This last shot has to be a record for the number of people in the booth at one time…

And you can see everybody. Sort of … :o )

Lots to tell you

We’ve had a pretty busy October and the reason we haven’t been able to keep the blog as up to date as we’d like.

The Photobooth really did its stuff last night at the Banqueting House in London for Google. Yep. That’s right. The search engine people… The Halloween Party was for Rhodes Scholars from around the world and the entertainment laid on was superb.

The Photobooth was sited very near where the food was being served during the meal and that meant the staff were dying to try it out. Who are we to deny them? Here’s a couple, of shots of them having fun.

Last weekend we were at the Hippodrome in Leicester Square for Izzy’s Batmitzvah and the main act was McFly! They did a 45 minute set and had Izzy up on stage serenading her. The whole event was booked and created by Dream Events and we have been doing work pretty regularly for them over the last few months.

Izzy is bottom left in this shot.

Hannah’s Batmitzvah the week before in St Johns Wood was excellent and the venue had a couple of the velvet ropes that are used to get people to queue in cinemas to spare. They worked quite well until it got very busy and we may invest in a couple for the future.

Omar’s 25th Birthday party took place in a large apartment just off of Hyde Park. It was huge! Just as well really as they had a Photobooth and a guestbook. Some really fun images and we haven’t really done a Photobooth in somebody’s flat or house before. Not with the Photobooth indoors any way. Nice to know it’s possible and they had black and white prints. Something we haven’t done for a short while.

Here is Omar and Nour at the beginning of the evening.

And about three hours later…

There were a lot of beautiful people at the party.

And some lads that definitely don’t like Chelsea football club too much and had to a fun dig at Omar…

Charlie’s Barmitzvah at the Chancery Court in Holborn was another very lavish party and we produced a brand new Guestbook that night that we have never done before.

Images of the new book will be going up on the website as soon as we have a short lull and not only do they look incredible, clients will be able to order more than one! With the current guestbooks that Rentabooth offers it is a one off. Your guests sign and leave a message directly on the page that goes into the book cover at the end of your party.

With the new deluxe books, guests leave messages on the back of their print and we combine the message of the guests with the images and create collage pages and have them printed. They are the bound into a personalised handmade cover in any cover colour(s) and material(s) by our tame bookbinder to create a storybook style album. They are stunning and you can order more than one! Adam Phillips of Uptown Events went gaga when he saw it after we had the finished article couriered to him to, ready to deliver to Charlie’s family.

11th October took us all the way to the magnificent Manchester Town Hall for Barbara and Antony’s wedding. We had a blast! There are precious few Photobooth companies outside of London and they hadn’t seen anything quite like it before. They immediately “got it” and had loads of fun. Loads of photos across the generations that we love to see.

Here are Barbara and Antony.

Terri went with me to Manchester and on the same evening we had Yazzy’s Batmitzvah and they didn’t have a Photobooth! Sometimes we forget that we are professional photographers too as the Photobooth has been such a huge success.

James and Zoe went to Quaglinos (one of our favourite Mitzvah venues), in the West End and he photographed the youngsters and Zoe printed them and popped them into keyrings. They are very popular with the youngsters.

Here’s Yazzy making her big entrance.

We will have yet another new product that has just arrived in the UK to tell you about very soon that we will be offering. I’ll be posting about it and putting a new page up on the website as soon as the new equipment arrives.
